3 Great LinkedIn Applications
Posted by: | CommentsI personally like the following three LinkedIn applications:
1) WordPress Application: with this application, you can pull your WordPress blog into your LinkedIn profile. You add value and can showcase your expertise.
2) Reading List by Amazon: you let people see what you are interested in with this application. Who knows, maybe the person looking at your profile read the same book and it is the connection point they were looking for.
3) Polls: you create your own poll and conduct with that your own research within your network. It is a great tool to better understand your audience, especially if your network is targeted.
Enhance your LinkedIn profile with the sections and applications feature
Posted by: | CommentsLinkedIn has added the “sections” feature to the LinkedIn profile for even more customization. Your LinkedIn profile is your resume on the web and an important part in you online identity. With the section feature, you can personalize your profile even more. For example, an author can showcase his/her publications, a Virtual Assistant can showcase his/her certifications and skills, you can showcase the different languages you are speaking and your patents. Here is a list of sections you can add to your profile:
Sections:
- Patents
- Publications
- Skills
- Certifications
- Languages
But not enough, you can add different applications as well. You can add everything from a Word document to events to your portfolio. Here is a list of possible applications:
Applications:
- Blog Link
- Box.net Files (PPT, Word documents, Excel Spreadsheets)
- Creative Portfolio Display
- Events
- FT Press Delivers
- Google Presentations
- Huddle Workspaces
- Lawyer Ratings
- Legal Updates
- My Travel
- Projects and Teamspaces
- Real Estate Pro
- SAP Community Bio
